    Samsung is a South Korean multinational conglomerate that produces a wide range of products and services, from consumer electronics to shipbuilding. Samsung was founded in 1938 by Lee Byung-chul as a trading company that exported goods to China and other countries.     • 1987: after the death of Lee Byung-chul, Samsung was restructured into five business groups: Samsung Group, Shinsegae Group, CJ Group, Hansol Group, and JoongAng Group
    • 1993: Samsung adopted a new logo and a new corporate identity, with the aim of becoming a global leader in the digital era
    • 1995: Samsung developed the world’s first 256-megabit DRAM chip, and later became the world’s largest producer of memory chips
    • 1999: Samsung launched the world’s first watch phone, and later introduced innovative products such as the Galaxy smartphone series, the Smart TV, and the Gear smartwatch
    • 2010: Samsung became the world’s largest seller of smartphones, surpassing Nokia
    • 2012: Samsung unveiled the Samsung Innovation Museum, a showcase of the company’s history and achievements in technology and innovation
    • 2016: Samsung acquired Harman International, a leading provider of connected car solutions, audio products, and professional services
    • 2019: Samsung celebrated its 50th anniversary, and announced its vision to become a leading innovator of the next era of technology
