Asus is preparing to launch its new Zenfone series, which will include not only the Zenfone 11, a smaller device with a revamped design, but also the Zenfone 11 Ultra, a flagship phone whose features and appearance have been leaked online.
The leak was discovered by a Reddit user with the handle Td3v1l (via Android Authority), who found renders and images of the Zenfone 11 Ultra in the latest firmware of the Asus ROG Phone 8, the company’s latest gaming smartphone. The renders show that the Zenfone 11 Ultra has a similar design to the ROG Phone 8, with a rectangular shape and a large camera module on the back. The images also reveal the name of the device, Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra, on the box.
Td3v1l also shared a basic spec sheet that he claimed to have found in the firmware, which reveals some of the specifications and the color options of the Zenfone 11 Ultra. According to the spec sheet, the device will be available in five colors: Eternal Black, Skyline Blue, Misty Gray, Verdure Green, and Desert Sienna.
The spec sheet also suggests that the Zenfone 11 Ultra will have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080. The screen is expected to support LTPO technology, which enables a dynamic refresh rate that can adjust from 1Hz to 120Hz, depending on the content. The device will also support a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz for some games.
The Zenfone 11 Ultra will reportedly be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the latest and most powerful processor from the chipmaker, which was announced in December 2023. The device will also have up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage, which are among the fastest memory and storage technologies available.
The device will also have a massive 5,500mAh battery, which is the same as the ROG Phone 8. The battery will support fast charging and reverse wireless charging. The camera system of the Zenfone 11 Ultra will also be similar to the ROG Phone 8, with a 50MP main camera, a 32MP telephoto camera, and a 13MP ultra-wide camera.
The Zenfone 11 Ultra will be one of the two devices in the Zenfone series, along with the Zenfone 11, which will be a more compact and affordable option. The Zenfone 11 will have a 6.2-inch AMOLED screen, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Lite SoC, 8GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 4,500mAh battery, and a triple camera setup with a 48MP main camera, a 16MP telephoto camera, and a 12MP ultra-wide camera.
The release date of the Zenfone series is not yet confirmed by Asus, but based on the previous launch cycles, it is likely that the devices will be unveiled sometime in the summer of 2024.
