Google Meet users can look forward to more personalization options on both web and mobile platforms. The company revealed this week that it is rolling out three new features that will enhance the user experience and appearance in Google Meet.
One of the new features is the possibility to mix and match different video effects. This means that Google Meet users can apply both background and filter effects at the same time, creating a more fun and engaging atmosphere.
To help users manage their effects, a new layer icon has been added to the self view tile. Users can tap on this icon to see which effects are active and to remove any or all of them easily.
The new feature also comes with a redesigned user interface that simplifies the process of finding and applying effects. The effects are now organized into three categories: Background, Filters, and Appearance.
Another feature that Google Meet users can enjoy is studio lighting. This feature is exclusive to web users and requires the Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on. Studio lighting can mimic the effect of professional lighting and allows users to adjust the lighting position, brightness, and color to suit their preferences.
The third feature is “studio sound”, which is currently available on the web and will be coming to the mobile app soon. This feature uses artificial intelligence to enhance the audio quality of users who are using Bluetooth headsets or dialing in from their phones. Studio sound is also part of the Duet AI for Google Workspace Enterprise add-on.
Google Meet users on iOS and Android devices can expect to receive some of these features in the next two weeks, while web users should have access to them by the end of the month.
