A short and shaky video clip of an unreleased and highly anticipated smartphone may not seem like much, but when that smartphone is the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, it is bound to generate a lot of buzz. The video, which was reportedly posted and then deleted by a well-known leaker on Twitter, shows the device in a real-life scenario, with no sign of the curved screen that used to be a hallmark of Samsung’s flagship phones.

The video confirms what many leaks and renders have already suggested: Samsung is ditching the curved screen design for its entire Galaxy lineup, opting for a flat and sharp display instead. This is a major departure from the previous Galaxy generations, which featured increasingly subtle screen curves that added a touch of elegance and flair to the devices. Some Samsung loyalists may be disappointed by this change, but others may welcome the improved durability and usability of a flat screen.
The video also reveals some other aspects of the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s design, such as the centered hole punch for the selfie camera, the flat and metallic frame, and the large and powerful appearance of the device. The video does not show the back of the phone, where the rumored quad-camera system with a 200MP main sensor and a 100x Space Zoom feature is expected to be located. Nor does it show the titanium body that is supposed to make the device more resistant to scratches and dents.
The authenticity of the video cannot be verified with absolute certainty, as there is always a possibility of a fake or a clone. However, the fact that the video was quickly removed from the original source suggests that it was indeed a genuine leak of the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The video is still available on some other platforms, but it may not last long, as Samsung is likely to try to erase any trace of it from the internet.
The video does not reveal any of the specifications of the Galaxy S24 Ultra, but those have been widely leaked and reported by various sources. According to the most reliable information, the device is expected to feature:
- A 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a resolution of 3,120 x 1,440 pixels and a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz;
- A Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset (worldwide), which is the latest and most powerful processor from the chipmaker, capable of supporting 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity;
- 12GB of RAM and three storage options: 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB;
- A quad-camera system on the back, consisting of a 200MP main sensor, a 12MP ultrawide sensor, a 50MP 5x telephoto sensor, and a 10MP 3x telephoto sensor, with a 100x Space Zoom feature that allows for extreme magnification of distant objects;
- A 12MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls;
- A 5,000mAh battery with support for 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging, as well as reverse wireless charging that can power up other devices;
- IP68 water and dust resistance, which means the device can survive immersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes;
- Corning Gorilla Glass Victus Armor, which is a new and improved version of the protective glass that covers the front and back of the device, offering better resistance to scratches and drops;
- Dimensions of 162.3 x 79 x 8.6mm and a weight of 232 grams, making it one of the largest and heaviest smartphones on the market.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is expected to be unveiled at Samsung’s Unpacked event on January 17, along with the other members of the Galaxy S24 series: the Galaxy S24 and the Galaxy S24 Plus. The devices are likely to go on sale in February, with prices starting from around $1,000 for the Galaxy S24 and going up to around $1,500 for the Galaxy S24 Ultra.”
