Oppo is gearing up to launch its new mid-range smartphones, the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro, in June 2024, according to a recent leak. The Chinese company, which has already unveiled its flagship Find X7 Ultra earlier this year, is aiming to capture the attention of the mid-tier market with these two devices.
The leaked specifications, courtesy of MSPowerUser, suggest that the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro will offer impressive features for their price range, if Oppo decides to price them competitively. The two phones will have similar hardware, with only a few differences.
Both the Reno12 and Reno12 Pro will boast 6.7-inch OLED screens with 120Hz refresh rate and curved edges. They will also have triple rear cameras with 50MP main sensors, 8MP ultra-wide lenses, and 50MP telephoto lenses with 2x optical zoom. The front cameras will also be 50MP, but the Reno12 Pro will have autofocus capability.
The two phones will have large 5,000 mAh batteries with 67W fast charging support. They will also be IP65-rated for water and dust resistance. They will likely run on Android 14 out of the box.
The main difference between the two phones will be the processor. The Reno12 will use a MediaTek chipset with the codename “MTK 24M,” while the Reno12 Pro will use the MediaTek Dimensity 9200 chipset, which is expected to be more powerful. Both phones will have 12GB of RAM, but the Reno12 Pro will have an option for 512GB of storage, while the Reno12 will only have 256GB.
The leak also reveals that the Reno12 series will be launched in June 2024, but this is not confirmed by Oppo yet. Therefore, we advise our readers to take this information with a pinch of salt until official announcements are made.
