Samsung is gearing up to launch its new mid-range smartphones, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35, which are expected to offer some impressive features and performance. However, the most surprising thing about these devices might be their prices, which are rumored to be lower than their predecessors.
This is according to a report by SamMobile, which claims that Samsung has decided to cut the prices of the upcoming Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 in most major markets. The exact prices may vary depending on the region, but they are likely to be more affordable than the previous models.
The report suggests that the Galaxy A55 will start at €479 (~$520) for the 8GB RAM/128GB storage option and €529 (~$574) for the 8GB/256GB variant in Europe. The Galaxy A35, on the other hand, will cost €379 (~$411) for the 6GB RAM/128GB model and €449 (~$487) for the 8GB/256GB version.
These prices are slightly lower than the ones of the Galaxy A54 and Galaxy A34, which were launched in Europe last year. The Galaxy A54 was priced at €490 (~$532) for the 6GB RAM/128GB variant and €550 (~$597) for the 8GB/256GB option. The Galaxy A34 had a price tag of €390 (~$423) for the 6GB RAM/128GB model and €460 (~$500) for the 8GB/256GB variant.
The price reduction may not seem significant, but it is certainly welcome in the mid-range segment, where every euro counts. Moreover, the Galaxy A55 and Galaxy A35 are expected to offer some major improvements over their predecessors, making them even more attractive.
For instance, the Galaxy A55 is rumored to feature the Exynos 1480 processor, which has a custom GPU developed by Samsung and AMD, giving it a boost in graphics performance. The Galaxy A55 is also said to come with 7 years of software updates, which is 3 years more than the Galaxy A54.
The Galaxy A35, meanwhile, is likely to have the Exynos 1380 processor, which is still a decent chipset for the mid-range category. The Galaxy A35 may also have a 50MP main camera, an upgrade from the 48MP sensor of the Galaxy A34.
