Vivo has already impressed the global market with its Vivo X100 and Vivo X100 Pro models, which were launched a few weeks ago. However, the company is not done yet. It is reportedly working on a more premium and powerful device, the Vivo X100 Pro Plus, which is expected to be unveiled in April next year. According to a reliable leaker, Digital Chat Station, who posted on the popular Chinese social-media platform, Weibo, the Vivo X100 Pro Plus will boast a remarkable 200MP periscope telephoto camera that can achieve 10x optical zoom and up to 200x digital zoom.
The leaker claims that the prototype of the device is currently undergoing testing and it has a 4.3X optical zoom with a 100mm focal length, thanks to a large 1/1.5 inches sensor. The Vivo X100 Pro Plus will also sport a 2K resolution display and will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which is the latest and most advanced chipset from Qualcomm. Additionally, an under-display fingerprint sensor that makes use of ultrasonic technology will be included in the smartphone to provide faster and more accurate verification.
The main attraction of the Vivo X100 Pro Plus will be its rear-facing camera setup, which will include a 50MP primary camera with Sony’s LYT-900 “one-inch type” sensor. This sensor is known for its exceptional low-light performance and dynamic range. The Vivo X100 Pro Plus will also have other cameras to support different modes and scenarios, such as ultra-wide, macro, and portrait. The Vivo X100 Pro Plus is still in the development stage and has not been officially announced by the company, unlike the Vivo X100 and X100 Pro. These two devices are powered by the Dimensity 9300 application processor from MediaTek, which has a configuration of four Prime Core Cortex-X4 CPU cores and four Cortex-A720 Performance CPU cores.
The Dimensity 9300 is a powerful processor, but it lacks any low-power Efficiency CPU cores like the Cortex-A520, which could lead to some thermal issues. However, this should not be a problem for the Vivo X100 Pro Plus, which will use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which is more efficient and optimized. The Vivo X100 Pro Plus is also rumored to have a generous 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage for the base model.
