Samsung has finally launched the Galaxy Fit 3, its newest fitness tracker that had been leaked months before its official announcement. The device, which sports an aluminum body and a 1.6-inch display, has a 45% larger screen than its predecessor, the Galaxy Fit 2, giving it a smartwatch-like appearance. The Galaxy Fit 3 comes in three colors: gray, silver, and pink gold.
Users can customize their Galaxy Fit 3 with over 100 preset watch faces or their own photos as the background. They can also swap bands easily with a simple button click to match their style and activity. The device has a battery life of up to 13 days on a single charge, according to Samsung.
The Galaxy Fit 3 is packed with features that help users monitor their health and activity. It can track sleep quality, snoring (when paired with a Samsung phone), blood oxygen level, stress level, heart rate, and more. It also supports over 100 different workouts, from running to yoga.
Blue Avelino, Head of Mobile Experience for Samsung Electronics Philippines, said in a statement:
In this new era of wellness, users desire a more comprehensive understanding of their health, and Samsung has committed to providing users with advanced health monitoring tools to help them along their wellness journey. As our newest fitness tracker, the Galaxy Fit 3 underscores our commitment to providing accessible resources that encourage everyday wellness and inspire everyone to work on their best self.
The Galaxy Fit 3 also introduces safety features that are new to Samsung’s fitness tracker models, such as fall detection and emergency SOS. These features allow users to call for emergency assistance quickly if they detect an abnormal fall or need help. Users can activate the SOS by pressing the side button five times.
The device is rated 5ATM and IP68, which means it is dust and water resistant. However, it is not suitable for diving or high-pressure water activities. It can withstand fresh water up to a maximum of 1.5 meters for up to 30 minutes, but it is not recommended for beach or pool use.
The Galaxy Fit 3 also enhances connectivity within the Samsung Galaxy ecosystem. Users can use the device as a remote control for their smartphone camera, taking photos and setting timers with Camera Remote. They can also use it as a controller for playing and managing media on connected devices.
However, the Camera Remote functionality is only available for the Galaxy Fit 3 when paired with Galaxy smartphones that run on One UI 6.0 or above, such as the latest Galaxy S24. This feature also requires the photo mode in the pre-installed Galaxy Camera app.
Users can also sync modes between their Galaxy Fit 3 and paired smartphone automatically when they want to avoid interruptions. Moreover, they can use the Find My Phone feature on the Galaxy Fit 3 to locate their misplaced smartphone, and vice versa.
The Galaxy Fit 3 will be available on February 23 in select markets that have not been announced yet. Samsung has also not revealed the pricing for the device, so users will have to wait for more updates.
